There is a profound difference between merely reading about Ancient Egypt and genuinely understanding its civilization. While one can read about Ancient Egypt in any language and from various cultural perspectives, true engagement with this ancient civilization requires immersion in the language of Ancient Egypt and an appreciation of its religious and historical context. Scholars are therefore tasked with interpreting Ancient Egypt within its proper framework, using scientific methodologies to study and compare evidence, thereby uncovering the truths behind this enigmatic civilization.
Our vision, in collaboration with our partner in Egypt, Professor Dr. H. Sotohy, is to present a unique academic tour tailored specifically for scholars and those deeply passionate about Ancient Egypt—not the typical non-academic tourist. Dr. Sotohy has organized and conducted training courses for Egyptology students, both locally and internationally, covering numerous archaeological sites across Egypt, including Cairo, Minia, Qena, Luxor, Aswan, and Abu Simbel. His extensive expertise allows him to effectively train Egyptology students and curate specialized academic tours.
Understanding Egyptology, particularly the Ancient Egyptian language, is vital for tour guides and begins with university-level courses. Dr. Sotohy has developed an Ancient Egyptian Language course that employs two approaches: first, by comparing Ancient Egyptian grammar with Arabic and English, making it accessible to both Arabic speakers and non-native learners; second, through real readings from monuments, which are invaluable for students' future careers.
On this tour, we offer in-depth site visits enriched with academic insights through lectures, complemented by books, documents, and various tools designed to provide an accurate understanding of both Ancient and modern Egypt.
